Tone monitoring for club leaders

Learn how to use tone monitoring to maintain a positive club culture.

Tone monitoring helps VPEs and Presidents ensure feedback in your club remains supportive and constructive.

Accessing tone monitoring

Go to Club Management → Tone Monitoring to view the tone analysis dashboard.

What you’ll see

Tone Breakdown:

  • Percentage of positive, constructive, and critical feedback
  • Visual charts showing tone distribution
  • Trends over time

Filters:

  • By meeting — See tone for specific meetings
  • By speaker — See feedback tone for individual members
  • By date range — Track trends over time

Understanding the data

A healthy club typically has:

  • Mostly positive and constructive feedback
  • Some critical feedback (it’s normal and helpful)
  • Balanced distribution across members

Warning signs to watch for

  • Sudden increase in critical feedback
  • One member receiving disproportionately negative feedback
  • Overall tone becoming less supportive

Taking action

If you notice concerning patterns:

  1. Review the specific feedback (without identifying givers)
  2. Consider addressing feedback culture in a club meeting
  3. Remind members of constructive feedback guidelines
  4. Reach out privately to members who may need support

Privacy considerations

  • You see aggregate tone data, not who gave what feedback
  • Individual feedback content remains private to recipients
  • Use this data to guide club culture, not to identify “problem” members

💡 Tip: Share positive tone trends with your club! Celebrating a supportive feedback culture reinforces good behavior.
